I love this guy in combination with Deadly Allure or Prey Upon.

Hurray for "dies" wording!
That art sure looks strange without the Phyrexian symbol for context. Nothing in the name or creature type suggests a creepy abomination.

I feel like this card is underrated. Every time I play against it I notice my opponent ramping up lands super fast and it ticks me off. I feel like it's too cheap. 2/1 is way too good for a card like this, because it's perfect for blocking anything with 2 power. You get the kill, and you get the benefit of another free land on your board. Gah. Frustrating to play against.

I play this in my own "Card advantage Green" deck. Yavimaya Elder and Krosan Tusker make up the next couple of plays that come after and they all ensure nigh-guaranteed card advantage; keeping me from drawing extra lands while filling my hand and providing beaters/finishers.
If they use kill spells or lose a creature, all the better. If they don't, they take a few damage and eat him in later turns (or in the worst case, he becomes rampant growth that chumps or suicides.)
It definitely adds up when your opponent plays into it *at all*. Best part is that if they don't you have 2 power unblockables all day and the tuskers still keep your land drops flowing. I top off the deck with Rune-scarred Demon and some Psuedo-card advantage cards like Nantuko Cultivator. Life from the loam works well in the deck and Quicksand becomes a {0} kill spell without hurting your m... (see all)

Still a good card, still bad art.

He's not that bad... some strength, yet still saccable or even a 2/1 for 2 isn't that bad.

This art doesn't make sense on this card outside of New Phyrexia.
