He may not be as bad as people may think... you get a 2/4 for 2 mana, since ramp spells usually cost 2 mana themselves. Then again, you may want to do other things on turn 3/4...

Not quite as bad as you'd think. The land ramping ability is good and on a Pillarfield ox for free? I know it's green but c'mon, value.

Even if you can't take advantage of the extra land he gives you (it's effectively jumping you from 5 to 6 mana turn 5), it's at least thinning your deck of land so you're more likely to draw a spell.

Underrated He dose the same thing as Solemn but has a 2/4 body.
Think about it. (Solemn hardy draws a card anyway)
