at the time, a 1/3 with a ping ability (in black none the less) was decent. Still would be a very fun card in some limited formats and should fit in a few pauper cubes out there.

The ***? Does the right one have 6 fingers? I swear I see two pinkies... Wait a second... Five fingers plus six fingers is eleven. Then add the (presumably) ten fingers on the hidden hands and... blackjack?

Their saving grace is that they don't die to their own ability. So in all likelihood, the worst punishment you get for killing your opponents' X/1s is losing 1 life a pop, which is a deal I'd happily make.

Back in the day I slew many an Elvish Archers with these babes... but where they really shined was the mirror match, where they gunned down black pump-knights like it was... uh... Kill a Lot of Knights Day?

Fun in multiplayer. Enchant with Vampiric Link.
Lovely art by one of Magic's greats.

a 1/3 black creature for just 2 mana was above par in its day! And the ability is strong, not as strong as Prodigal Sorceror's, but this kills that guy! It also has two more toughness than both Fireslinger and Sparksmith.
Also, its a pair of ugly lesbians with nice bodies. Whats not to love.

A tiny pinprick of damage that allows your opponent to hurt you isn't going to give you the upper hand in a duel. Neither will a tapped creature.
