I really enjoy making things unblockable each turn, but I never really had the chance to use it in Venser's deck. It's much more defensive and your mana is generally being saved for Mistmeadow Witch, Vanish Into Memory, Overrule, or any other protection spell.

People are obviously going to be playing this guy for his ability. The question is, would you want to though? Distortion Strike and Artful Dodge can get the job done for 
, but with this card, you get to have the spell on legs and it is repeatable, albeit at a higher cost.
I suppose it could be argued that the above mentioned instants didn't exist at the time of this card's printing, but there were still other, better options. Taunting Elf, awesome presence, and Breach are good examples.
