Rather crummy from an objective viewpoint, though black rarely gets such huge common creatures, and it does have an ability, so it's not totally horrible.

Scavenge looks like an ability that wizards worried about. Maybe it was too powerful during playtesting? I can see a few matches wherein a few creatures got a bit too big and flattened the opposing player. All it'd take is one good instance of flying or trample, and Ring of Kalonia gives the latter to a lot of Golgari stuff...

Neither cost is terribly efficient, but it's kinda what I've come to expect from black common fatties.

Scavenge ended up so bad on so many cards.
Sad.

Where it dies, we farm.
It's already dead, Mihas. That's why it's called a zombie wurm.

Golgari should have ramp in their deck anyways. 7 mana is no big deal when you're going to be using Scavenge as a finisher anyways.

Seven mana for a 5/5 blows... Seven mana for the scavenge blows too. :| Sure, giving a flyer five +1/+1 counters is nice, but because of it being that expensive, it's only barely playable in limited. And unplayable everywhereelse.

Pros like me know how great an ability that scavenge will be. The cost is appropriate.

I'd recommend running this main deck in limited, that way it's easier to choose what take out when you sideboard useful cards in.

Deadbridge Goliath. Everyone else was thinking it. Sure, it's a rare compared to a common, but it completely outclasses this in a Golgari deck. Trash. 0.5/5
