Another fun (and mildly less annoyingly obvious) way to use this with life from the loam
Cycle this to dredge life, then bring this back with life. rinse lather repeat until out of mana, or until you have something more effective to dredge up.

I think you're missing the fact that this can be a land when you need it, or a card draw, letting you thin your deck. If you're running a ton of cards that let you draw one, it's like you're running a smaller deck than normal, making this well worth it.

well... its nice that in late game you can redraw, i guess... but if it wouldnt get into your deck in the first place, you would draw that card anyway...
