Certainly not a forefather to ping, Prodigal Sorcerer is the forefather to ping.

This is simply awful by any standard, only useful if there is absolutely no other ping in the format.

@ 001010011100101110: How is this card in any way similar to Magmaw in terms of functionality other than the fact that they do damage?

To use his ability just once costs a total of 6 mana and does at most 2 points of damage. I can see some value in sealed deck but beyond that he's pretty subpar.

Water under the bridge, an experimental forefather of ping, not useful by today's standards, like a classic car compared to modern cards.

Way to conservatively costed. Take out the tap effect, then we have a decent card.
