Just used this card on MWS in a deck with Browbeat, Pain's Reward, Dash Hopes, Vexing Devil, Skullscorch, Breaking Point, and others, just for funsies. It was really the star of the deck for me. It's 6 damage for only 2 mana, which is just some of the most efficient burn out there. If someone saves their land twice, they're at 8 health. Think about that. Not sure why this card isn't rated higher.
Playing it in a non-silly burn deck will either get you the most burn for your buck possible, or mess up your opponent's land drops extremely early in the game. I wouldn't play it in a land destruction deck, in case they don't pick that option, but in a burn deck, either one helps you out.

There is far better land removal in Magic, but I like this card. I think someone will take 6 damage not to lose his Lotus Vale...

if you think that sacing their land is worse than drawing 3 cards, then yes, this strictly worse than Browbeat. you may be right, but most would say that's 'apples vs. oranges' and either run both or neither.

would you play a card that reads 1R: deal 6 damage to target player. I think you would. Whatever they choose, this card is still good.

Actually, destroying a nonbasic land for 1R is a pretty sweet deal.

actually a pretty good land destruction card. you may say that it's strictly worse than sinkhole, but when a red deck utilizes this card they're just hoping to slow the opponent down long enough to burn them out. really, either way, this card should find itself a home in any LD deck.

Hello Mr. Jund,
Have I got a deal for you! Would you like to take 6 damage or lose a land?
Hmm?
