Some cheap removal in a land. Not entering the battlefield tapped makes this a lot better, despite the potential life loss.

Cool, cool.
I wish there were more useful Threshold cards. The majority of them can be, they're just too overcosted some times.

Essential in a Death's Shadow deck. Really easy to benefit from the second abillity too in such a deck.

I've played plenty of Death's Shadow when Phyrexian Mana was the new thing. I think I might bring it back in Classic with this and Barbarian Ring :D

Disfigure on a mono-colored pain-land.

Use next to Deathrite to gain back your life. People will always tell you that tempo is everything in eternal formats, and they're right. Burn yourself a little if you have to.
EDIT: Note that this is colorless removal for {B}{1}. Nails mother of runes and her kin. Eats Delver of Secrets
