Beside this card, Mycologist, and the two biologist cards, the rest of the academic creature cards are in the humanities. That is if you consider chronology a humanity. They need an immunologist or a bacteriologist (that might actually work). Or what about a dracologist! It is fantasy after all.

Scroll Rack, my boy. Could be fun in Eldrazi, i guess, considering the graveyard recycling effects of the three Titans. And the fact they're a bit pricey.

"Zoologist" sounds more like a blue title to me.

I guess scrying wasn't big when this was around, this is an excellent Crystal Ball companion.

I run this in my Mayael EDH deck. As contrary as that seems, this card is actually pretty good. Sometimes I don't have the full 3WhiteRedGreen open to use mayael's ability. This guy's ability is mono-green, costs two less, and is less detrimental to your play style than mayael. (She essentially 'mills' several cards from the top of your deck every time you use her; even though they just go to the bottom, you still don't get to use them.) If you have Crysal Ball, Sensei's Divining Top, Mirri's Guile, or any other top-deck manipulation to use, this guy is amazing. It's instant speed, so you can use it in response to someone doing something, like attacking.

Another card to look at which does something similar, but is more forgiving and less mana intensive, is Lurking Predators.

It's kinda like a Quicksilver Amulet except it's from the top of your deck instead of your hand.

I really like running this card with Momir Vig, Simic Visionary.
