CHIA PET!
Only really good if you already have threshold, and even then, it's bolt-bait for two turns (1/1, 3/3, 5/5). Or 1 turn if you have Doubling Season but there are better cards (creatures even) to combo that with.

its funny how this, Rushwood elemental, and Scute Mob scale in growth. And mana cost too.
I'd say Scute is usually stronger than this guy and sometimes rushwood. But I've pinged plenty of scutes in my day with Sparkmages and Chandras, so I could easily be convinced to use Rushwood over Scute. In a Chroma deck, no questions asked!

When I saw the name I thought he was a Mosstodon relative.

When you have threshold, this card reads "At the beginning of your upkeep, you may put a +1/+1 counter on Chlorophant. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may put another +1/+1 counter on Chlorophant."

When this card was first spoiled, I thought for sure it would see play. but Odyssey was a really big leap in power from previous Standard environments.

This card's really more of a watered down Rushwood Elemental. At least until you get the threshold, then he'll grow twice as fast, but Rushwood costs only 2 more, and comes in stronger, AND has trample.
Good card, but there's better.
