The thing that kills this for me is not so much even the filter aspect of it - as that can be useful in the right place in the right deck, but the 2:1 cost, that is, paying to add to your mana pool or to add to your mana pool.
If it were to add , , or , then it'd be pretty cool as a filter land especially since it doesn't come into play tapped.
And remember, while Savage Lands comes into play tapped, unlike this, Savage Lands is not a filterland, as in, you just have to tap it to get , , or instead of paying and tapping to filter that into a single , , or mana.
