{3}{G} for an 8/8 in the right deck? Sign me up! Wizards, please print more squirrel beasts, more of my opponents need to die from the ankles up.

That's the second nastiest squirrel I have ever seen.

It's an 8/8 for 4 in any deck that would play it, but some evasion would have been nice. I wonder why ug madness never played this?

That's one righteous squirrel.

Biggest squirrel ever. Awesome, but why threshold? Why does a squirrel freak out when there's enough dead things?

People seem to be missing the point. The art does not depict the squirrel - it depicts the beast the squirrel has become.
The reason squirrels (and anything else that lives in the forest of Krosa for that matter) turn into monsters is because of all the mana. You could think of the threshold mechanic as mana accu'mulating in your graveyard (fits the flavor of the card, since time passes before the mutation is complete) and affecting your creatures and spells.
