This is like a better version of Priest of Yawgmoth . I would maybe to use this with Cathodion or Su-Chi to rack up a bunch of mana and get a big spell off like I have with the Priest of Yawgmoth.

You can sack any black creature even if it's artifact, red, blue, white or green. If you have Ashnod's Transmogranted Sliver Queen you can sack it with this.

Oh my, is this guy amazing.
Play him with Dross Golem for some crazy mana excel.
Use him with Restless Apparition. Attack with the apparition on turn 4, then when you opponent attacks you, you can sac him, then use the 3 mana to pump the persisted apparition to block as a 4/4.
Use him with any Shade or Consume Spirit. Your opponents will have to block every shade you attack with because of the on board mana excel.
Use him with affinity creatures, such as Frogmite or Myr Enforcer.
Amazing with unearth creatures, too. Consider Viscera Dragger. Cycle for 
, unearth for 
, attack, then sac to get 3 damage for no card disadvantage and no mana lost. It gets a little more silly with Corpse Connoisseur. 
, search up an unearth creature, sac him for mana, play something else. Next turn, unearth him, sac him ... (see all)
