No, it sucks because WotC changed the wording. Try this with R&D's Secret Lair.

Dragon's Claw makes more sense flavorwise.

With the aforementioned R&D's Secret Lair... you could argue that the ability is 1 to make every red spell played for the rest of the game have you gain 1 life instead of their normal effects. Not a bad hoser, eh?
