Hmm, with Jaya making the toast, Urza making the pancakes (Spatula of the Ages) and Borborygmos handling the eggs and bacon (Protean Hulk), we've got ourselves an MTG breakfast! Delicious, just serve some... reinforcements? (Bottle Gnomes) and season to taste.

Yes, Jaya, I would like toast!

You rock, jaya! First you're a planeswalker, second, you make breakfast!

This card would be insane if it could target players.

Dear {R};

This is your part of the Alliances cycle of cards that have an alternate cost allowing you to exile a card of the same colour instead of paying the converted mana cost. We trust after rigorous playtesting that Pyrokinesis, Contagion, Bounty of the Hunt and Scars of the Veteran are on the same power level as Force of Will.

Sincerely,
Alliances Design Team

Absolutely love it. I'll remove cards in my hand for 4 points of instant-speed burst anytime, and if it's late enough in the game that I can't afford to discard, I'll just hardcast it.

Second best in the cycle, compared with Force of Will. Obviously not up to that level of brokenness, but pretty damn solid. Even with losing 2 cards, you could potentially take out 4.

In its day it was easily a close equal to force of will in how useful it was. Clearing out white banding creatures or red goblin swarms for free after burning the player with your other spells was immansely valuable as it let you prioritize. Had this card allowed you to target players it would be an eternal staple for every burn deck especially with the release of planeswalkers.
