He can do that with his arms and all it does is give him trample?
That's a shame. Really, this card only gets points for the art.

Not outright bad, but definitely not the best card. A sometimes trampling 3/4 for 5 is not exactly great,but still.

The one advantage Igneous Golem has over Golem Artisan is his increased toughness puts him out of Lightning Bolt range.

I'd like to see a 3 or 4 mana version of this with Firebreathing; well within the flavor; his being an artifact and 4 toughness would dodge bolt and other medium beaters; his trample/firebreathing on an artifact would make him worth it in red decks (hard to find trample, easy to pay gobs of red) but it'd be usable in drafts for it's colorlessness or ability to pump just a little bit here and there.
Someday wizards us bound to make that.
