Definitely better than dromasaur. This guy can attack fearlessly and puff itself out to protect if it gets blocked, or stay as a dedicated defender. fun flavor as well.

I always assumed he became a beast in the Great Creature Type Update. I'm pleased to find he's one of few Magic cards that has the same creature types as it's name.
