I hate "First!" Comments, don't you?
Anyway, I feel like this card is out of place, considering the Dredge strategy of Golgari.
However, I suppose they needed creatures to put into the deck, and I also suppose there are Niv-Mizzet and Wee Dragonauts that need to be dealt with... but...
I suppose it's fine.

Solid spider, takes what spiders do best and ramps it up a level. And if you think this is overcosted, you aren't ramping

Haha, funny to see a comment rated 0,5 as the most popular one! BS must be disappointed for not getting to be the first commentor on every card of the set.
About the card on the other hand (NPI), I couldn't resist the urge to give this spidey a playmate, so I added Somberwald Spider. I really hope to cast them on a same turn one day.

I liked this card a lot when I first saw it. But what ends up happening is that you don't want to play it until they drop a flyer. In this sense sometimes its better to maindeck deadly recluse to fill this role.
Hes just sticking up your hand and leaving you to guess if they have a flyer or not. If they do and you drop it too early, then they get out their big flyer. If they don't then hes just waiting for no reason.
Still, this does make a nice sideboard card.

This spider is great in EDH. If you have problems with a big flyer like Akroma, Angel of Wrath, just tutor him with green sun's zenith:)
