Looks like people have issue with ante. If you can draw seven cards with one mana, that's a risk worth taking.

Not playing for ante? Use Richard Garfield, Ph. D. to turn any 1 mana black card in your hand into this card.

Banned in all formats, so its only of any use if you have friends still willing to play ante games. I can't remember ever playing an ante game, even when Unlimited was still on shelves.

OK I know no body plays for ante but this card may very well be the single most powerful card ever made. If you have played the old Micropose PC game this card was a killer.

You have me beat by a few months. I started playing the same month Legends was released. Unlimited Edition booster packs had already become a collector's item (Arabian Nights booster packs were going for about 12 bucks if my memory serves correctly). Some of us still played for ante occasionally, but yeah, it was already mostly a thing of the past even back then.
