Was hoping this had vigilance. Darn.

I'm not so sure of its applications but it has great art.

This guy was made for my Ancestor's Prophet/Celestial convergence deck. The weakness being removal of the latter (and sometimes the former as well.

Also potentially useful in an Enchanted Evening deck.

Man, this guy's desperate for anything.
"Sacrifice Vigilant Martyr: Counter that suspicious appraisal your opponent gives you when you attack with a tiny creature but have some untapped lands and cards in hand."

I used this in a deck based around Enduring Renewal, for obvious reasons. The deck worked fairly well, but I didn't wind up sacking the Martyr very often. It was valuable just to have it in play as a safety net though. The goal of this deck was to pull off one or more of several infinite combos, but I rarely achieved one. It turned out to be harder to pull them off than I thought, and I changed my mind about Enduring Renewal being insanely broken. Gameplay with this deck was surprisingly balanced and when I did succeed, it felt like a real accomplishment.

That first ability is very noble and white, but red got it a year earlier: Goblin Chirurgeon.

Even with just the first ability, it'd be decent. A 1/1 one-drop that can shield your later fatties from Murder is nice to have. Admittedly, the big drawback is that it's not a surprise, so your opponent will play around it, but it's still nice.
