Eww, it isn't even errata'ed to cast.
"When you play a card, sacrifice Juju Bubble."
For those of you who arn't adept at the m10 rules change, it means this:
Spells you cast from your hand are considered cast.
Lands you drop on the battlefield are considered to be played.
When the wording was changed, all spells that you normally played from your hand, are now cast from your hand instead.
Some cards like Juju Bubble have kept their wording as played. That means, that if you cast a spell OR play a land for the turn, it is considered as playing that card. So essentially, when you cast a spell or play a land for your turn, it triggers this card's sacrifice ability.
If you don't believe me on the "play" wording, just look at Future Sight, another card that kept it's same wording. It had to keep the origional wording or else you wouldn't be able to play lands off... (see all)

This would be good to get late-game when you have extra mana and nothing better to do with it but gain life.

Arguably the worst card ever.

Just run Eternity Vessel instead. Or if you're really clever, attack with Sun Titan and recur Power Artifact; enchant Juju Bubble and gain your infinite life ;)

What you need is a permanent that can make this a creature (for a turn is enough). Then you equip it with Darksteel Plate which you already had in play before you played this. Now you can put Animate Artifact on it without it getting buried. Then all you need is Braid of Fire and you got yourself an artifact creature that you can use to gain life with 2 to 1 manaratio.
Easy peasy.

It's like a Stream of Life, except it's more expensive because it's colorless, and has at least a little potential for reuse. OK, so Stream of Life wasn't exactly overpowered, and the cost increase for being colorless is too high, but it's still better than .763 stars.

Didin't Unhinged have an artifact that produced infinate mana? But yea, while 1 life for 2 mana without tapping isn't bad for the times, the "if you play a card, bury Juju Bubble" bit kills this card's usefulness. Without that drawback, this is ok for it's time, even with the cumulative upkeep. With the drawback, it needs to produce more life for the mana.

You wonder what the designers were thinking with this card : "You know, that cumulative upkeep sapping his mana isn't enough to weaken this mana-dependant card - let's make it so he can't play anything else - THAT'll balance this!" :headshake:

Incredibly bad, even for its time. Wow!

I'm thinking this was supposed to be called Juju Bauble.
Terrible card. What a waste of decent art and flavour text.
