The primordials were all obviously designed for Commander and similar multiplayer formats, and all of them have the potential to wreck your opponents. Swords to Plowshares is no joke, but it's usually much better at instant speed than it is during your main phase. This goes for all the primordials, but finding a way to flash this thing onto the battlefield is an absolutely crushing play.

I'm seeing this in a REAL multi-player game combined with Conjurer's Closet/Cloudshift... hilarity!

Yes, Swords to Plowshares is great because it's a one-mana spell...
but this (and his buddies) are all abuseable with their ETB triggers, over and over and over again
Mimic Vat, Cloudshift, Clone, bounce blink copy etc
and, unlike Swords, this hits all opponents at the table, likely 3 creatures instead of just one.
EDH is a format that really works best with permanents (especially repeatable effects) and this cycle is perfect:
they are expensive, which is fair;
beefy, which is fun;
scales to the number of players;
with potentially game-changing effects!

A bit weak for its size, but it exiles multiple targets, which is staggering in Commander.
Heaven help your foes if you start Flickering this - watch all the creatures go away, forever.

@mdakw576: There are very few similarities between this as Duplicant. Our favorite metal guy will usually net you more than four power, doesn't give the enemy life, and is colorless (playable in colors that lack powerful spot removal). Life totals do matter in EDH more than you suggest, especially if there are utility generals like Azusa involved.

Why are you all complaining? White just got a giant vigilant Shriekmaw. Clone your primordials for maximum fun!

Expensive, doesn't win the game immediately, but still pretty solid fatty that'll take away their best threat.

The worst of the primordials, but could be fun in EDH
"Sorry, I had to take out your creature because it was too much of a threat, but here's some life in return"
