A 3/1 for 2 mana is useful any day of the week.

Having said 3/1 get flying when it attacks with 2 other creatures, and happens to be printed in a set full of cards that can easily make this happen? Icing on the cake.

Now this is value.
Common, 3/1 for 2cmc, splashable, potential to have evasion.
Comparable to Porcelain Legionnaire. Sure, this is obviously not as good as the latter, but the Legionnaire was really something worth of an uncommon to be honest.

I love this card. This is one of the creatures that makes me believe Battalion could see some constructed play (besides Frontline Medic, but that thing doesn't really count, since it was essentially made to hose Variable Colorless spells). It has an extremely aggressive body, gains evasion, and a deck that wants to trigger Battalion will trigger Battalion by at least turn three. After that, swinging for 6-8 a turn (in the air what's more with War Falcon and Skyknight Legionnaire) is not difficult at all and cards like Boros Charm will end a fight before a slower deck can wipe the board and save themselves. This little guy is strong. Very strong.
