By the time you get this out, all your creatures you bring out on the field should be nice and fat, and perfect for his ability. You're playing Gruul, after all!

This guy obeys all three rules of Fight Club:

The first rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club.
The second rule of Fight Club is you do not talk about Fight Club.

The third rule of Fight Club: If it's your first time here, you have to fight.

No "may" in the ability is sad times but I guess it fits the flavor.

BTW, this forces the fight. You CAN'T stop it.

So, after you've played this, good luck trying to play anything small like Arbor Elf.

Casual/limited card; people need to view it as such when rating it. In those formats it's prob around 3.5 - 4. In both casual and limited, it's slightly below curve, but provides a lot of potential card advantage - with the right setup, every creature you play can turn into a +1, which has huge potential. In limited you can't build around it too much, but hopefully in Gruul you'll have enough beefy creatures that you'll be getting on the winning end of those fights. In casual, you certainly can build around it, and one obvious card comes to mind - Vigor. If you're having fights you can't win, you're probably still getting a bunch of +1/+1 counters.

If you go the Naya route, you also gain access to Mark of Asylum (prevent all noncombat damage that would be dealt to creatures you control), and Oriss, Samite Guardian (prevent all damage that would be dealt to target creature).

Lots of build around. Even in casual and limited it's not the best creature, but it's certainly good and deserv... (see all)

"ROOAAAR! I'm a huge-ass beast that's gonna smash your face in!!"
...and then he gets stopped dead in his tracks by a squirrel due to lack of trample. Yay...

The mana cost, and being afraid of wasting tiny creatures kinda makes me not appreciate this.
