Beautiful card. Very Simic. Sad that this doesn't work (I don't think) with evolve, since nothing is entering the battlefield.

Can someone explain to me how this is a good enough card? I mean, really, is turning one of your lands into a creature really that good of an idea(Aside from the manlands, that is self explanatory. I mean cards with this type of ability) ? Assuming you are going to use this new land/creature for combat, (not much else you'd do this for) doesn't that leave you one mana less for this card? and in combat, there is a chance it will be killed.... now you are down a land.
I'm not dissing the card, or the ability, I just want to know how to use this effectively. Looks like a lot of fun, and telling new players that I clonked them in the head with an entire Forest is in itself a reward, but how is this preferable to playing a creature?

@WannabeJedi1337 Because it's an instant, meaning you get a surprise blocker (or a hasty flier if you prefer). Also if it wasn't obvious, people here are talking about limited.

It can serve as a surprise blocker that catches flyers and prot. from color evaders. It can get those last points of damage in. You can also use it on your opponent's lands for improvised land destruction (Gruul Charming those Azorius flyers? Snipe a land on the side). Considering how weak LD currently is, that last one might be it's best use :P.
So not obviously powerful, but flexible and sneaky.

It's a mini land destruction...if you have a plummet in your hand. The best this is is a hasty 3 damage for 3 mana.

@Avetenebrae Yup, it would be colorless. If it doesn't explicitly say that it changes colors then it stays what it is, in this case colorless.

@ TwistedBobbay: I do not believe that would work, because Sever the Bloodline says: exile target creature and all other creatures that share a name with it. Not lands, I am sorry to say.

Is the Elemental colorless? Probably not but I wonder if it will be errated green and blue or only one color (similar to Call of the Conclave's token).

Nifty combat trick, but can't be cast if you have mana-producing elves after an Armageddon.

This card is a trap in Simic. Maybe as a green splash in Izzet?
