There are ways to draw cards even in opponent's turn, the new wording doubles Rowen's draw effect!

So wait... with the new Oracle wording it also draws you extra cards on your opponents turn? That means it's twice as good!

@nope.avi - It's to stop you from cheating. Note that almost every card that either rewards you for drawing a certain type of card or allows you to search your deck for a certain type states that you need to reveal it; that's to keep people from saying that they got a land, drawing a second card, then throwing out a different card.
Either way, revealing a land isn't going to break the game.
