Now this is a well-designed split fuse card! If you're running both colors, then you have no reason to play Shatter or Demystify, and you get the option for enchantment removal - Smelt is less than Wear, but can't touch enchantments. One of the most straightforward, no-nonsense split cards in the set.

About the hull breach comparison, I think that hull breach is superior.
While I prefer instants, hull breach is raw card advantage, AND costs less mana to boot.
Still, this card is alright, as a sideboard card in limited, or in some casual constructed decks in standard. Outside standard, I'd stick to orims thunder and similiar stuff.

So it's half of a naturalize in twice the colors at 1.5 times the cost?

Look up "sideboard" in the dictionary, and there's a picture of this. Boros didn't really NEED this, but it sure helps.

In your hand, better than Disenchant. Out of your Sunforger, still not bad.

My only problem with this card is that every time I draw it, my opponents know what it is, because I always tilt my head slightly...

I guess Shatter // Demistify just wasn't as snappy of a name.

Strictly better than Shatter and Demystify.
Edit: If Owen Turtenwald's showing at GP Washington is anything to go by, this is Legacy-playable. Just a one-of in the sideboard, but it was in a tournament-winning deck. This card's utility cannot be denied.

Being able to hull breach at instant speed is strong. R/W isn't very spell oriented so I prefer Duergar Hedge-Mage in my deck, but I could see it being more useful in some situations.
