I really liked playing this guy at the prerelease. Reach seemed more useful than the Trample of Korozda Monitor from RtR, since you want him to die and Scavenge him later anyway. His 3G mana cost as opposed to 2GG and Scavenge costing 1 less is better too. :)

I actually really like the Scavenge cards with keywords like deathtouch and reach. It is a pretty straightforward two for one. Scavenge is costed a bit ridiculously (I'd kind of like to know which Future Future League player broke it so I can send angry letters) but they did get it right on certain cards like Varolz, the Scar-Striped, Sluiceway Scorpion and Slitherhead.

I really like Scavenge as a keyword, I just kind of think it's the 'Devour' of Ravnica- i.e., erm..not good.
But what I LIKE about it is that I think I'll have enough actual Fun *trying* to make it good, so that will counterbalance it's weakness. :)
You know, ya gotta Respect the guys at WOTC. They don't always do everything we want them to (usually they want the wrong color or the wrong deck to be the best. :/ ) BUT they do a pretty good job of keeping almost every card actually having a Purpose of Some Kind.
I'll eventually build a few Golgari Pure Commander decks (only allow Ravnica block cards) and I'll be glad there are enough odd Dredgers and Scavengers of mild interest here and there that I can attempt to make good. =)
How many people think Scavenge might be totally completely HAX given the perfect support card? What would said card look like?
