The reason this doesn't feel like a "self-contained combo" card is because this is simply Show of Valor and Hydrosurge stapled together and given an increased mana cost. Quite lazy design, but it's nice to have two combat tricks in one card.

These are weird numbers. I'm trying to figure it out. The two halves of the other Fuse spells work together, this one doesn't quite. Your 1/1 can survive combat with a 10/10, I guess that's something, but, like, it doesn't have that "one card combo" vibe that the others have.

The numbers certainly are odd. Protect might have been better as +0/+6 with a reduced mana cost.

Well, this is odd. It's a nice combat trick for limited, but not that much more.
