I would splash black in a burn deck just for this card.

Bob Zombie. Nice card, I can't wait to try a modern zombie list with this dude.

Plays nice with Grafted Skullcap. Throw in an Ensnaring Bridge for good measure.

Some of most nasty, awesome art I've seen on a Magic card.
Great design, too.

Best rare in the draft, next to Aetherling, who both just pillage your opponent. Blood Scrivener though should be seeing play in Aggro decks already, I sure as hell run two copies of it in my Jund Aggro. Aetherling has casual appeal though, unlike Blood Scrivener who's Zombie Bob who just snorted blood crack.
5/5

Man, flavor text has really gotten immeasurably more awesome starting with the Innistrad block.

As mentioned, Zombie tribal will really take advantage of this. But even in just this set there is a lot of room for min/maxing this (e.g., Sire of Insanity).
EDIT: Wow, I just realized this thing's potential to mitigate the negative effects of multiple mulligans.
