Cloud of Fae works well here (though obviously not in Modern.) it works great for having counterspells anyway, but the idea that you can hard counter OR counter target 2-cost spell or less by having her out is exceptional.

"So many people use this thinking it's a form of mana leak. Gotta read the cards people!" — RhineVonFarl
Don't you mean "isn't a form of mana leak"? Because it looks like one to me. And an awesome one, too.
In the worst case, it's a Force Spike on legs. With wings. That comboes with itself.
Edit: Whoops! Silly me misread the card.
How could I mistake "unless it's controller pays " with "with converted mana cost X or less"?
Should have put some more trust into RhineVonFarl's comment and read the card more carefully after what he said. Made myself look quite like a doofus there, huh? Sorry :P

Mode, you're completely wrong. This isn't Mana Leak or Force Spike. Read the card. Read Force Spike. See your wrong-ness. Bask in it.

@RhineVonFari: No, Mode is right. The X here isn't an opponent having to pay or the spell is countered, the spell is countered no matter what.

I remember one time, my opponent had a Mistbind Clique with one of these under it and quite a few fae on the field. I blinked the Clique and forced him to counter an Oona, Queen of the Fae he was trying to cast. Then I had to deal with another Psuedo Time Walk from the Clique but it was totally worth it. Honestly, that was the only time I ever saw a chink in that deck. This guy is utterly incredible.
