If you look at the mountains from time spiral, they all had those spire things on them. As for split second art, I guess it's because it only has it if you kick the spell.
I like this card because it's a slightly worse earthquake, but you can make it uncounterable if it's necessary (or prevent your opponent from responding).
4/5 because I like the card, but it is not too impressive in this set.

Rating this any lower then a 4 is almost criminal imo. By far the craziest of the split second cards. Yeah, it's expensive, yada yada, but, it's not here to be cheap to cast. It's here to be big and awesome and flip kitchen tables and that's what it does. So splashy, so red, I love it.

I like the thought of this card having split second because I like the thought of a blue wizard watching everything around him exploding and slowly collapsing, and he's sitting there flipping through his spell book panicking that he can't do anything.

This would be better with a split second type art...Also the art as is looks strange. It looks like there's just pieces of cardboard with flames on them sticking out of volcanoes.

This card has the most metal name ever. That's why it has Split Second. You know in Metalocalypse when Nathan Explosion is up there screaming about some thing or another and people are just standing around dumbly, staring off into the middle distance, and randomly exploding and getting crushed and bisected and set on fire? That's what this spell does. Now, say it with me, in your best metal growl: MOOOOOLTEN DISAAAAASTER!
