Perhaps one of the best in the cycle, as green can power out lands and efficient low-cost creatures quickly. Still not great, but not entirely horrible.

All of these staffs are pretty bad.

No thanks. When I play green, I want to ramp up my mana and play huge creatures, to simplify it. I don't want to play a card that gives me an average of 1.3 life a turn. If you want a good green lifegain card for multiplayer, look at lifegift. It costs the same amount of mana, is harder to kill, and gives you a dozen times as much life as this piece of crap.

Better than Wooden Sphere. Worse than Lightning Bolt in a deck with no way to cast it. At least if you're forced to discard Lightning Bolt your opponent might make some mistaken assumptions about your deck. If you're forced to discard this your opponent will realize that you're an idiot.

@Majinara: Lifegift is better if you're playing a multicolored deck. The Staves are made for monocolored decks, which starting players will gravitate towards due to them being simpler to construct. In a mono-green deck, Staff of the Wild Magus will give you a ton more life per turn in the midgame than Lifegift will.

You guys are idiots. This is a fantastic card. I put this in my monogreen deck last month and it's been kicking ass. If you have a proper green deck with efficient ramp and smart, cost-effective creatures, this thing is fantastic.
