Weird design, but kind of cool. It's especially useful for enchanting the equipment as soon as it hits the board.

I am not sure whether this over-hoses Equipment in Standard or not.
I'll say this though: Jitte demands answers. This might be not-so-obviously intended for Legacy? Not to mention Swords? It's a bit to consider.
Not to mention Darksteel Plate, Lightning Greaves in EDH.
I'm very happy they are finding more interesting things to do for Black. :) I think over the past two years they've really done a lot to improve the overall Design space of "Curses". Some cards that are supposed to 'curse' other cards fail at their job. I don't expect THIS one will fail, though! :D

Not bad for the fact that black has a hard time dealing with equipments, this helps to shut down equipping issues like Tokens where you can't really spare that many kill cards.

So i found a very limited combo that helped me win a game. Had Kalonian Hydra with mark of the vampire on it. Fire Shrieker on the field. I enchanted it, and I think the guy didn't realize I missed the wording about my upkeep. He attached and swung with an empty field, 10/10 with Double strike. I fogged. He played another creaturebut didnt have the mana to move the artifact. Lost the Hydra. Couldn't afford to use the equipment again.
But in seven rounds, only time it did more than shut off double strike.

This card is one the only ways to actually interact with etched champion, since it kills it despite protection.

I would rate it better if the creature died on its controller's upkeep. as it stands it's only going to be useful to discourage equipping the item unless your opponent can't get another creature out there to pass the equipment onto.
might be more useful against voltron EDH decks like Zur where he is practically the only creature in the deck.
