Auras are always high-risk/high-reward, and although this one does nothing to mitigate the risk (e.g. Rancor) the reward is huge. If you land this and hold onto it, you're going to go all the way.

Turning a Hill Giant into a Shivan Dragon?
Yes please! 3.5/5.

This is a solid card in limited. Makes any creature hard to deal with, especially if you play it on something like Gladecover Scout which is also common and easy to draft. This card would have been a solid draft pick with just the +2+2 with flying....being able to pump your creature is just icing on the cake...

The flavour text fits but I'm not a huge fan of the artwork.. It's dark, hard to make out and should have more Dragons wings or something... It just looks like a floating person... Compare the artwork to Serra's Embrace..

And "Shiv's Embrace" seems cheesy.. Should have given it the full name. Shivan's Embrace. It would have shown more respect for the card, Shivan Dragon.

Solod abilities on the card.. The overall design leaves something to be desired.

First pickable on any M14 draft. Better than most rares in the format.

It's extremely high variance. Against blue decks, equipped with Disperse, Time Ebb, Air Servant or Claustrophobia), it's often a 1-for-2 that dinged your opponent for a few life. However, against decks that aren't prepared for it, it can certainly end the game quickly.

@ Zylo
"Shivan's Embrace" wouldn't make any sense
Shiv is a place
"Shivan" is like "American" or "Australian", it's refering to an inhabitant of shiv

Limited-wise, this thing is a beast with the in-set Regathan Firecat. T4 6/3 flying, firebreathing swinger that can swing right there and then? Yes please! And, the intro deck (Yes, intro decks) come equipped with that, so the U/R intro deck is probably the best one to choose, if you want to buy a bunch of them and have some intro shenanigans.
