Well it would've been too freaking bad if they gave us Shatter again after finally giving us a taste of instant-speed 1 cmc red artifact removal.

As of my time of typing this, Smelt from M13 has a 4.1 rating while this card has a 3.7 rating. People rejoice when a long dissevered card is printed like Walking Corpse and then rate it down the next time its reprinted and say it is awful.

Some master of Mirrodin, Koth. Can't even tell normal steel from Darksteel.
You've lost your touch, buddy.

Yo Smelt, I'mma let you finish but It's a pity core-sets are so limited on expert mechanics. I suppose it adds some elegance but Shattering Spree is so good.

It's alright. But in Commander I'd use in mono red something like shattering pulse or smash, whereas in quicker formats, this is simply too narrow.

Combo this with Liquimetal Coating to destroy anything you want on the opponent's side of the table. Mycosynth Lattice is also an option.

I'm not sure why they changed the flavour text from "Looks like it wasn't darksteel after all" to "Looks like that wasn't darksteel after all." Is this significant?
