@Horsemanship The last step of the turn, when you discard down to your max hand size and such. Basically, read the original wording; that's how it works, except saccing it is the last thing you do before discarding. Too bad, this little ability had some potential for cool effects. Also, "substance" only existed for a short while, and was a MTGO hack to allow these cards to work properly when Mirage/Visions went to MTGO; the problem was, these would go away before damage was cleaned off creatures, causing them to fail functionally; that wasn't a problem IRL since people just got what they were supposed to do, but under the current rules, it didn't technically work like that, and since MTGO has to be perfect rules-wise, it was a conundrum. The substance ability has since been removed and this card works how it once did, but requires clunkier rules text to accomplish it.

Devious mechanics, and if your deck has Replenish even better.

Flavor text is false. The walls of my house would not be improved by making them taller.

I totally humiliated an opponent with this card. I had Merieke Ri Berit and I tried to steal his Nin, the Pain Artist. In response, he used Nin to ping Merieke for 1. That's when I pimp-slapped him with an instant-speed PARAPET. I got his Nin and drew a card. I danced around in his face for a solid five minutes.
Then he played Pyroclasm. I hate this card.

Mystic Veil -> Alexi's Cloak
Lightning Reflexes -> Flaming Sword
Ward of Lights -> Cho-Manno's Blessing
I really want to see Parapet get the same treatment - it would be so fun!
(Gift of Granite and Scale of Chiss-Goria aren't quite elegant enough.)

Flashing in enchantments can be fun with cards like Auratog, Mesa Enchantress, Celestial Ancient, and
Sigil of the Empty Throne, all within its own color.
Otherwise it's a pretty unexciting common.
