This is a good use of phasing, getting your creatures out of danger.

Phasing is a nice ability, too bad rules interaction problems mean we'll probably never see it again.

The second ability sounds more like a command... But I can't phase out!

It would have been better if the activation cost were 1U rather than UU. But assuming that you're willing and able to pay the cost each turn, he essentially functions as an indestructible blocker and takes one attacker out of the equation each turn. Also, he has a decent creature type. 3/5

Vastly underrated, even if it isn't at the height of its power. When it debuted, it was an unparalleled defender in its colors, and one of only a few critters capable of surviving a Wrath of God. If you had the mana up, it was almost impossible to kill. That's still true, even with today's wide selection of removal possibilities.

Auras attached to it phase out with it, making it a great Voltron chassis. The flanking doesn't do much, but it does let it block creatures with multiple instances of flanking that would otherwise kill it before its ability could be put on the stack. EDIT: No, that's wrong, flanking is triggered, not state-based. But hey, it's not like flanking is a *disadvantage*...

When the rules changed for a while, and damage went on the stack, it might as well have been unblockable by creatures with a toughness of three or less. But even without that craziness, this card should be up in the fours, instead of a lowly 3.4.
