Nevertheless, she's one of the coolest ninjas in Kamigawa. Perhaps a little expensive, but she does an excellent job of highlighting a rarely used mechanic

Yeah. Ink-Eyes definitely rocked the standard scene back in her day. She had such a big impact, even decks that didn't run black mana included Ink-Eyes in the sideboard just to answer their opponent's Ink-Eyes!
I love you Ink-Eyes, plz don't kill me.

Agreed Mode.
I've always loved the art on this card. If you look, you'll notice there are few if any straight horizontal or vertical lines. Everything is diagonal and dynamic. Excellent work.

Since not all promo cards are available on Gatherer (yet), It might be worth mentioning:
She does have alternate art by Ron Spears - Ink-Eyes was a pre-release promo of Betrayers of Kamigawa:

It has a more veiled feeling to it, even somewhat surreal because of the vague background.
But I personally prefer Wayne Reynolds original art, and I don't mind at all that they reused it:
The composition is great, there's so much energy and motion captured in this one particular moment.
The crooked perspective, the tense energetic stance with just one foot taking hold of the ground, her hair and the ink dust in her eyes suggestively blown by her movement, the weapons adding more skewed lines and serving as a second frame around her - again also thanks to the chain being captured at the brink moment of its most tense position right ...
