Trample is a Very powerful mechanic and should never be underestimated. Kessig Wolf Run is generally better for most decks but if you are using a lot of mana every turn this will be better. You should always use both in EDH.

I love this card's name. SKARGG. THE RAGE PITS. That's got to be the most Gruul name possible. I can just imagine sending some guy here to get really angry and trample over people. Go, my Rubblehulk! Crush them all!

Pumps toughness unlike Kessig Wolf Run. The 1 toughness is relevant in Modern where many of the creatures in Gruul aggro have 3 toughness and are just in range of Lightning Bolt.
