My favourite card in the set. This so-called advisor offers no wisdom or help whatsoever - but she can match a bear in single combat.

Maybe one of the two succeeding sets will have Advisor tribal support? I know I'm waiting for Cyclops tribal support, at least...

When I heard Theros had a philosopher bear, I was expecting something grander. Heh.

Perfect for my Human Advisor deck. Running this along Aysen bureaucrat is so devastating that I don't see any opponent able to come back in the game. Gamebreaker.

Strictly more flavor text than grizzly bears.

While Plato was indeed a wrestler, and Socrates was renowned for being strong, when I think of a "philosopher" I do not think "guy that can kill a couple of Grizzly Bears single-handedly". Also, this should totally have had an ability, probably with a reduction in power and/or an increase in rarity.
@qk1: Well done, you completely missed the point of my comment, dumbass. First of all, I didn't ask for an increase in power, but a decrease, to make up for having an ability at common. And secondly, my point isn't that I wanted a more powerful card, but that a "philosopher" shouldn't be a functional copy of Glory Seeker, and that it should have an ability that reflect their perceived wisdom, and the influence that has had on history. For example, I think nobody would have batted an eye if this was a White version of Elvish Visionary.

I don't know what it is about this card, but I think it originally was different. This could have so much more flavor if it had an ability like Silverchase Fox
A philosopher who will sacrifice his life to dispel the teachings of the gods. What could be better flavor than that?

If you think that this is a name that doesn't match its stats or abilities, just wait until you see Godhunter Octopus.
