A long while ago i bought a ten dollar box full of 'random' cards, which in hindsight i realize were the cards the store was unable to sell. Anyway, i ended up getting six of these things alongside an unlikely number of other useless cards. I want my money back...

Urza was kind of a dirt bag, what with the eugenics programs, the treachery, the using his ally's soul to make super bombs. But this was surely his worst crime.

Poor Kroog. It's no wonder the city was destroyed by Dragon Engines.

You know....the more I look at old cards, the more I REALLY appreciate how much of a difference
1 CARD
1 P/T
1 LIFE and 1 MANA
really make. Even though this card is quite slow and some might fairly say over-cost, a) it's a common and probably useable in Limited, though bad. b) the numbers do not need to be changed very MUCH to transform this into rather an annoying little actual piece of Protection.
Imagine if it drew a card every activation? Broken. What about just 1 card ETB? Becomes Playable.
What if either the casting cost or the activation cost 1 less? Playable. BOTH? Becomes a good card, probably squarely uncommon-good.
What if it blocked TWO damage? What if it blocked damage and gained 1 life instead?
This card IS weak...but oohhh sooo clooose x)
