I do miss Barrage of Expendables a little. It felt a bit more fair.
Excellent card, free sacrifices that do something noteworthy. I'd run it.

I was plenty happy to have Barrage of Expendables, but now that this is recirculating, and is in the modern frame, I'm more than a little tempted to pick up a few playsets for casual decks.

Don't fool yourself, Barrage of Expendables was just a placeholder for people waiting on this reprint in the new frame... New art may have been good, but all I can think of is how happy I'll be once this is finally in my Krenko EDH! (cos sometimes attacking isn't an option)

It is not even close to Massive Raid. The two cards are barely comparable.
First off, Raid is an instant: a one-time deal. This sticks around for indefinite uses. HUGE difference.
Second, Bombardment has you sac your creatures, whereas Raid just counts them. Sometimes upside, sometimes downside, always relevant.
Third, Raid deals a lump of damage to ONE target. If you have 10 dudes, you deal 10 damage to a creature or player. Bombardment doles it out in 1-point increments, which is almost always better. You can split it up to kill say, two 5/5s, or shotgun ten 1/1s, OR just do the 10-to-the-face option.

I must admit, the art from the Tempest printing looks great with the modern border.
Still... awesome this was reprinted, makes for great mechanic abuse... like persist abuse with Melira. :D
