The Born of the Gods card Drown in Sorrow tacks on scry 1 for no extra cost. Infest, we hardly knew ye.

Considering it first saw print in Onslaught over a devade ago,
most of us were probably rather acquainted with Smother's big brother.
Admittedly though regarding this print, I got my playset just recently.
Oh well, they still have their use in Commander along with Drown in Sorrow.
But yeah, you'll obviously preferably play the strictly better version in other formats.
(That is, if you don't play Toxic Deluge for one reason or the other).

Pretty solid card, however it is now outclassed by Drown in Sorrow.

So what you're saying is, it's good when it works, but it isn't good when it doesn't work. Brilliant insight, Mike Flores!

it's just barely good enough to pretend to be a board wipe spell, but it's just low-enough power that it kind of makes all the difference in the world whether you know the metagame of your opponents' decks or not. :/ lots of decks that it doesn't do enough against/acts like a heavy-black Dark Banishing.
It's obviously great when you know you are going to be able to kill 5 or more utility creatures or 10 or more tokens. probably you want to be playing with more than 4 players to have better odds that one of the decks you oppose will offer you the right targets.
it's a card you want set aside in easy reach though- it's a format staple, just weirdly narrow-ish considering it's also a staple.
