The art looks like someone nut-punted him >.<
Pretty sure this is worse than Assassinate, but I haven't played it enough to know.

This is ONLY worth playing as an additional source of removal in Limited -- where sometimes you'll have to work with less-than-optimal sources of removal. I ended up playing with this at the pre-release in my nearly-Mono-Black deck and it worked well enough... but it should DEFINITELY at least be a f'ing INSTANT!

I pulled three at pre-release and this card save me multiple times. My opponents didnt see this card coming. In my opinion is is great in limited......only.

Like a reverse Assasinate. Problem is, Assasinate could deal with constant attackers, this one's only good for Vigilance creatures and those that don't really attack much. Has it's uses, but in all reality? Meh.

Apparently based of this card http://kaijudo.wikia.com/wiki/Death_Smoke.

"Yes, it's inferior to Murder. But if you haven't noticed, Theros block removal is all weaker than average,
so the focus can rest on the heroes and monsters." —Atali
Then how come Bile Blight and Searing Blood is that effective?
According to Agathe, Asphyxiation is the shit.
In comparison, what the card does just makes me Drown in Sorrow.

kind of wish it had been an instant with, "cannot target creatures that entered the battlefield this turn" or something. but that's just me being nit-picky.

Hero's Downfall is an Instant, costs the same amount of mana, and is a better card. At least this will be cheap to buy...

This plays better than it reads. Unless you're literally about to lose, you'd be surprised how often even major threats are left untapped for a turn ot two.
Clearly for limited formats only. Wizards decided that cards like doom blade would be unhealthy at lower rarities in Theros limited, given that its all about assembling massive threats. So we get this instead. And its still a reasonably high pick!
If you want a doom blade for constructed, they're standard legal in M14 and cost 25 cents, so go for it.
