Back when I first started playing Magic, I had a dinky monoblue mill deck that my sister had put together for me. I remember it having creatures like Merfolk Mesmerist and Kraken Hatchling, which were perfectly fine for slowing the game down and milling, but were terrible in combat because of their lack of power.
After many frustrating combats, one of the first lessons I learned was that there was a huge difference between a creature having 1 power and a creature having 2 power. Aether Adept was one of the few creatures in my mill deck that had 2 power, and I was always happy to tap out for her and bounce one of my sister's creatures, knowing all too well that the Adept would be enough of a threat to make her think twice about swinging in at me.
It might be strange to older players, but this is a card that actually makes me feel nostalgic. Like the Serra Angel and Shivan Dragon of your days, Aether Ad... (see all)

I find it amusing that if there are no other creatures on the battlefield, she has to unsummon herself.
