I like this art. It has the perfect blend of realism and "badassitude", compared to the other illustrations for this card. The oldest illustration is kinda bland, and the newest is over-the-top ridiculous.

The art is fine, Adrian Smith's art is awesome. Maybe new players of magic who are already exposed in Digital arts doesn't appreciate this art. The latest art of the Black Knight is cool, but its overrated because of its exaggerated mace, armor, and horse. He looks like Ihsan's shade riding on Nightmare. This art is a badass, an old looking veteran knight who shows his face, axe wielding warlord ready to terrorize. Not wearing a helmet is redundant to be hated, this is not an insulting art for black knight, its just you want something more like those knights in your online games.

Have you ever noticed how some White Knights are all "do do doo doo" and some Black Nights are all "Yeahhhh, awww yeaahhhh..."?
Have you also noticed how some jokes are just not funny in any reference?
