Moleland -

Since the card doesn't say "IF YOU DO," then as I read it, you gain control of the Equipment even if the creature is indestructible, or regenerates, or has totem armor.

"If the creature is indestructible you will still get the equipment, but I'm not sure if it will still be attached to the creature."

@mike77800 The equipment will still be attached to the creature. The card doesn't specifically say "unattach all equipment attached to that creature" since this would usually happen automatically when the creature is destroyed. It kind of messes up the flavor, but if you'd only gain control if the destruction was successfull, this card would be even worse :P

Despite its very narrow use, you might still be better off even against an equipment deck by casting a Doom Blade instead of this. I think for six mana, they could at least have removed the nonblack-clause.

It does say though that you gain control of all equipment that was on the creature. If the creature is still in play, then the equipment is still attached to the creature, and therefore it would have to read, "you gain control of all equipment that is on the creature." The was part is referring to the equipment that is no longer on the creature, due to being unattached when the creature dies.

Cool, novel, but probably a bit specific/overcosted.

Hmm... the ruling doesn't say anything about this, but what would happen if the creature was indestructible, would you still take control of any equipment or not?

EDIT

It is nice to see my comment caused this much discussion, tho I agree that Mojo is probably right.

At least they made this an instant I suppose

interesting card.. could be extremely awesome if you actually managed to take equipment with it...

but is this art suggesting that the man's pants is his "equipment"....?

Not even a nearbye sword? or shield? or even a gauntlet?

....

His pants...
