Haha works with growth cards but a 1/1 trample makes me giggle either way this rules

I understand you are meant to buff him to get use from the trample. But this guy still makes me laugh at a glance.
Why stop here? How about a Defender with Vigilance? A Flyer with Reach? An Infect creature with Wither?

What's he going to trample me with? His bow?

Those 0-toughness chump blockers better watch out.

With green, it's easy to give him +X/+X. Very cheep, efficient, fits in with what green does. Great.

Screw you dad! I don't care if I have one power, I'm going to get trample!

First off, you hardly ever get a creature with an ability for only one mana. Second, I love 1/1 tramplers. That's a bold statement.

It isn't often you find a card that is, in fact, "strictly worse" than another card. As Forgeling has already pointed out, this guy is worse than Llanowar Elite. Often times, you see comments such as: "Time Elemental is strictly worse than Temporal Adept." While I can't think of many situations in which I'd rather have a Time Elemental than a Temporal Adept, the claim that Time Elemental is strictly worse than the adept is incorrect. The Time Elemental has a different mana cost, flying, and a different creature type.
Nitpicking? Yes.
In the case of Defiant Elf and Llanowar Elite, though, the term is applied correctly, making this card a humorous counterexample of power creep.
Edit: @Tagvoar
Llanowar Elite is still strictly better, unless we want to get into the Mind Control Argument. If you want to run a playset of both this and the Elite in your deck, more power to you. It still doesn't change ... (see all)
